70 LOUGHBOROUGH ESTATE RESIDENTS TURN OUT FOR OUR COMMUNITY MEETING
We’re absolutely BUZZING 🐝 after an incredible turnout at our Loughborough Voices public meeting last night.
Collectively, we discussed:
⚪️ our estate’s reaction and fears regarding the recent fire at Kettleby House
⚪️ safety risks – and heard advice from the @londonfirebrigade on protective measures we can collectively take
⚪️ the management of our estate and UPCOMING AGM
It was so incredible to see so many residents there, having amazing discussions about not only how we can live together well but how we can stand shoulder to shoulder and ACT together 💪
We feel so proud of this community 🥹
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ISAIAH AND BETTY FROM @advocacyacademy FOR SUPPORTING US TO FACILITATE THIS MEETING. 👏 💓
Thanks also to all at Marcus Lipton for hosting us!
Loughborough Estate Management Board has called their AGM for 19 February, and as expected, will be holding it ONLINE.
This is against @lambeth_council’s advice and offer to hold it in person on their premises, and crucially AGAINST RESIDENT’S WISHES.
We expect this meeting to be chaos, poorly chaired by Peter Shorinwa and manipulated from the sidelines by Sade Adedotun, who as ‘Neighbourhood Services Director’ should play NO ROLE in the democratic function of our estate.
Despite this, we intend to organise and challenge this dysfunction! ✊
Our AGM is where residents should have the right to hold the board to account, and to vote out representatives who don’t hold the estate’s interests at heart. The more of us that stand together, the better our chances get.
This malfunctioning TMO’s DAYS ARE NUMBERED! 📆
